Topping the bill in our newly named TINY TOP (formally known as The Bandstand) will be THE LEYINES and STILL MOVING DJ’s.
THE LEYLINES will be closing the TINY TOP on Saturday 14th July
West-country collective established in 2013, with a genre-defying, eclectic sound that ranges from traditional folk to full blown festival rock. The Leylines are: Dan Thompson (electric guitar); Dave Burbidge (drums); Hannah Johns (violin); Matthew Wilkins (acoustic guitar); Sean Booth (bass); and Steve Mitchell (vocals/guitar).
The Leylines was founded by a group of musicians in Weston-super-Mare (via Bristol), wishing to combine their individual musical styles into something that isn’t quite folk, sort of punk, 100% heart-pounding revelry. This unique sound, combined with frontman Steve Mitchell’s lyrics centred around life on the road and the state of society, has launched the band into the heart of the live music community and made them firm favourites of the festival circuit.
The band released their debut album, ‘Along The Old Straight Track’ in June 2016, produced by Sean Lakeman, recorded at The Metway studios in Brighton and mixed by Al Scott. With this team on board, inevitably the record has drawn strong comparison to the likes of The Levellers, Mad Dog Mcrea and Ferocious Dog, whilst remaining an album by a band which have forged their own sound and identity.
With a fiercely loyal and ever-growing fan base, The Leylines guarantee to have their audiences up on their feet – and they will be having as much fun as their audience while they’re doing it!
“…with a huge investment in time, money and expertise behind them the question is “was it worth it?” The answer a resounding and unequivocal yes…” – Louder Than War “A debut that needs to be enjoyed, frequently.” – Fatea
“…it’s voracious and ready to devour anything that gets in its way…” – FolkWords “…a helter skelter musical maelstrom.” – Rhythm & Booze
“…substantial, beautifully written and overwhelmingly superb…” – Liverpool Sound & Vision “Well worth the wait and the hype” – Ferocious Blog

AND THERE IS MORE!
JOINING THE MAIN STAGE LINE UP ARE THREE WELL SORT AFTER ROOTS/ SKA/ DUB BANDS. BARE JAMS , SHOOT THE MOON AND SKATA TONES
Returning back to Jurassic fields 2018 are Bare Jams. This band took to the main stage with a storming performance at JF16 and we are excited to bring them to the festival this year for all to see.
Bare Jams are an upbeat, fun lovin’ collective. Self described as ‘Poppy-Funk with a sneaky bit of Reggae and Ska’. Their fun rhythms involve catchy lyrics about twists on day-to-day life, parties, their pet gnome and the Hokey-Cokey sometimes even some politics and other meaningful stuff. They’ll have you chillin’, then get you skankin’, even put a smile on your face. Organic and freshly brewed party vibes, which really shouldn’t be missed.
Founded by Ollie (vocals/guitar) and Sam (drums/percussion) in 2011 as a busking duo, Bare Jams quickly grew into the 6-headed party phenomenon we know today. After the release of their first EP ‘Rigglet’ in 2014 the journey really started. Now they drive their van ‘Linda Dotty Vagabond’ from country to country, spreading joy as if life’s a soda commercial. Their big ol’ farmhouse is the centre of creation, leading to plenty of new material. Their EP ‘Cold Treats’ has been released in the Netherlands with This Could Be Your Music Label in December 2015.
On the live side of things, Bare Jams have supported La Pegatina on their Dutch club tour in December 2015. Together with their Spanish amigo’s, they played the country’s best venues including Melkweg (Amsterdam), Effenaar (Eindhoven) and ‘t Paard van Troje (Den Haag). They also supported and shared stages with Will & The People, By The Rivers, The Beat, Tree House Fire, BabyHead, Wille & The Bandits, Yes Sir Boss!, Odjbox, Biggtop, Too Many T’s plus many more. The summer seasons see them play a good string of UK festivals including Boomtown Fair, Kaya, Curious Yellow Weekend as well as European shows in Holland and Belgium.
Exciting things are planned for 2018 through a collaboration of This Could Be Your Music Label and Bombarda Agency, so keep an eye out for their fun and funky vibes at all your favourite festivals next year!

THREE MORE ACTS TO JOIN THE BIG TOP LINE UP ON SATURDAY 14TH JULY ARE BLUE NATION, THE PETTY THEIVES AND THE TINY FACE EXPERIENCE
Blue Nation, from Birmingham, use Riff based Melodic Rock from a reservoir of influences, including Beatles, Cream, Zeppelin, Brit Pop 90’s, more recently Rival Sons and Vintage Trouble, to create their memorable sound. Their songs are delivered by three accomplished musicians, fronted with stunning vocals. All backed up with impressive gig experience, stage presence and great songs. They play top venues in the major cities of the UK and further afield including two tours of NYC’s Greenwich Village and Manhattan. Their most prestigious performances have been on the Main Music Stage @ F1 British Grand Prix Silverstone, twice and a recent festival slot with Rag N Bone Man. The quirkiest was The Tramlines Festival Sheffield, acoustic on a moving Tram. Their latest release is “Good Times”, the thumping new single taken from their soon to be released follow up album, to the critically acclaimed debut ‘Steady Your Soul’ produced by Andy Macpherson (The Who, The Buzzcocks, Eric Clapton). Two more new singles, Rich Girl & Gimme Some Time will be released in the run up to the full album release in Sept 2018.
Classic Rock Mag “a thumping example of a song with riffs that have, in all likelihood, been hewn from driftwood found on the banks of the River Rea delta itself.” Having toured extensively including across US twice, the band are well positioned to bring a stomping live show to the tour dates with ‘Dirty Thrills’ February, ‘Weapon’ in April & ‘Electric Mary’ in June A question at a festival. “Where did that skinny kid (Neil) get that great voice”
